Syracuse, N.Y. - A fire badly damaged a two-story building in Eastwood on Monday afternoon, according to Syracuse firefighters.
The two-story building at 372 S. Midler Ave. suffered severe fire damage on the first floor and significant damage to the second floor, according to Capt. Erik Caster, a spokesperson for the Syracuse Fire Department.
The building contains two businesses and an apartment on the first floor, as well as two apartments on the second floor, Caster said.
Outside the building has signs for Goblin’s Den Tattoo and Family Traditions, a tattoo and piercing business.
The fire was called in by Syracuse police making an arrest. Firefighters responded at 1:33 p.m.
Firefighters believe the fire started in the apartment on the first floor, Caster said.
