BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - An organization known for giving back to the Greater Binghamton community helped transform the music room at a local school.

The Ahearn Foundation has been gifting to local companies since 1979.

Several members of the Ahearn family attended Seton Catholic Central High School, and many of them were musicians as well.

The Ahearn Foundation recently donated $20,000 towards the Seton Catholic Central Music Room, which went towards upgrades to the flooring, adding soundproof panels throughout the room, replacing the staircase, and adding a ramp to provide accessible access to the Gymnatorium.

Music Teacher Keith Alcius Rundell says the upgrades add versatility to the room.
