WESTERN SLOPE, Colo. (KREX) - The Western Slope of Colorado has experienced heavy rainfall over the past few weeks, raising questions about the upcoming winter outlook for the region.

Peter Goble, the assistant state climatologist at the Colorado Climate Center, explains that while exact seasonal forecasts are uncertain, the presence of La Nina could lead to a better-than-average snow season for the Northern Rockies.

"When it comes to seasonal forecasting, we never know exactly what's going to happen. All we can say is that La Nina is in place right now. That tends to be good for the Northern Rockies," said Goble.
