LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The Laredo Independent School District is recognizing the importance of getting your children to school safely, with a bit of fun.

They’re taking part in National School Bus Safety Week and joined the celebration this morning with a parade. It’s all part of America’s Safe Schools Week, which encourages the community to help spread awareness to ensure the wellbeing of students and school staff, while having some fun at the same time.

Officials tell us the district has over 70 school buses and service over 5,000 bus route students on a daily basis but say they service all 19,000 students in the district to some capacity whether it’s for field trips, sports and even other activities.
