BOISE, Idaho — Idaho Rep. Russ Fulcher is seeking detailed answers from the Trump administration following the announcement that Mountain Home Air Force Base will host a training facility for the Qatari Emiri Air Force.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Qatari Minister of Defense Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani signed a letter of acceptance at the Pentagon that will establish the Qatari facility and allow Qatari pilots to train alongside U.S. Air Force personnel.
Hegseth said the base would "host a contingent of F-15s and pilots to enhance our combined training, increase lethality, interoperability," as reported by the Idaho Press . Al Thani described the agreement as embodying a "shared belief that peace is best preserved through strength and partnership."
