A motorcyclist has serious injuries after a crash on Hartford Turnpike in Vernon Monday night.

Vernon police said they responded to the area of Hartford Turnpike and Mount Vernon Drive around 7 p.m. for a reported crash involving a car and motorcycle.

Authorities said a man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The car driver wasn't hurt and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

The road was closed for several hours during the investigation, but has since reopened.

The Metro Traffic Services Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 860-872-9126.
