The inaugural Pride Equality Walk that was scheduled for this Saturday in Palm Springs has been postponed until next year, organizers said Monday.

“Due to unexpected financial and logistical challenges, including recent changes that have impacted our promotional timeline, we have determined that our current resources are not sufficient to execute the high-quality, impactful event our community deserves,” according to a statement from Greater Palm Springs Pride.

Although organizers didn’t specify the exact challenges leading to the delay, the nonprofit and the city faced financial hardships, including a $35,000 budget shortfall earlier this year.

The nonprofit’s website recently removed any mention of one of its presenting sponsors, Silvercrest, following the arrest of Silvercrest Advert
