(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento County Sheriff responded to reports of a man who was found unresponsive following an assault on Sunday.

Around noon, North Patrol deputies learned that a man had been transported to a local hospital after another man was detained due to a physical altercation at the Jack in the Box on 3500 Marconi Avenue.

The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives have taken over the investigation and are currently getting on scene.
