KIMBERLY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Last year, the Vinyard Bridge was struck by a truck hauling an oversized load.

Idaho Transportation Department Public Information Officer Courtney Wagner said the damage done to the bridge was intense.

“Four girders were damaged which diminished the integrity of the bridge,” Wagner said.

This week, ITD crews will work nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. to replace the girders of the bridge, as well as replace some of the deck. During this time, eastbound traffic on Interstate 84 will be closed from Exit 173 to Exit 182 to allow repairs, meaning drivers will have to utilize detours.

“It detours off the Twin Falls Interchange onto U.S 93 and wraps around onto State Highway 25 and then back onto I-84,” Wagner said.
