COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person was seriously injured in a shooting in the University District Monday evening, according to a Columbus public safety dispatcher.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called on a report of a shooting in the 1800 block of North 4th Street just after 9:30 p.m.

The dispatcher said one person was shot while inside a U-Haul truck outside of Fourth Street Taproom & Kitchen.

The victim was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. An officer at the scene told 10TV the victim is expected to survive their injuries.

One person has been detained, according to the dispatcher. In an update, police said the person was released and charges were not filed against them.

It's unclear what led up to the shooting.
