Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area has formed over southwest Bay of Bengal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Tuesday.
“Under the influence of cyclonic circulation over southeast and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal, a low pressure formed over southwest Bay of Bengal at 5.30 am on October 21. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify further into a depression over southwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal during the next 36 hours,” the weather agency said.
