QUAD CITIES, Iowa/Ill. (KWQC) --
Strong winds
Cold mornings with frost
Active next week
A First Alert Day is in effect through this evening for gusty northwest winds up to 45 mph.
These winds will hold highs to the mid-50s, creating a very fall-like feel across the area.
A few showers can’t be ruled out this afternoon, especially north of I-80.
While winds will relax tonight into tomorrow, Wednesday will still be breezy with gusts up to 30 mph, but at least we’ll have plenty of sunshine.
Thursday and Friday mornings bring the best chance for widespread frost and possibly the first freezing temperatures of the season. Be sure to cover any plants you want to save for another week.
We’ll warm back into the 60s this weekend with increasing chances for rain by Saturday night.
