Former Sydney Swans and North Melbourne player Jason Love has been handed a six-month ban by Racing NSW for launching a tirade of abuse towards the trainer of his horse after it finished third in a race at Randwick.
Love, a part-owner of Sydney Bowler, was given a six-month disqualification for conduct detrimental to the interests of racing after pleading guilty to using improper, threatening and insulting language towards trainer Tom Charlton during an incident on October 8 at Randwick. The ban will be reduced to three months if Love attends anger management counselling.
Sydney Bowler, which has gone winless in seven starts since beginning his career with three victories, had just finished third at the midweek Kensington track meeting.
