The shakeup never surprises.

Not for Hawaii high school football. Saint Louis’ 35-7 win over then-No. 2 Kamehameha convinced nearly half of the voting panel to change their minds.

It wasn’t quite enough to knock Kahuku from its perch, as the Red Raiders retained seven out of the 12 first-place votes from coaches and media to remain at No. 1 this week in the Star-Advertiser Football Top 10.

Saint Louis moved up a notch to No. 2, supplanting Kamehameha with the do-or-die victory. The Crusaders collected five first-place votes and have a bye this week. At 2-1 in ILH Open play, they’ll wait to see how Kamehameha (2-1) fares against Punahou (0-2) this weekend.
