Police Scotland have launched Op Salmo, a Fish Poaching Campaign

Op Salmo is a national campaign aimed at highlighting the issue of Poaching, its effects on animal diversity as well as causing issues amongst local communities.

Police constable Whitby, the Divisional Wildlife Crime Coordinator, along with local Officers will be carrying out patrols at various locations to raise awareness and deter those who continue to commit these sorts of crimes.

A police spokesperson said: “It will also be an opportunity for members of the more rural communities to engage with police, please stop and speak with them if you see them out and about.
