DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced Tuesday morning he is seeking a third term.
Ellison has served in his role as attorney general since 2019.
“Now I am running for reelection to keep Minnesota a fair place where the rule of law prevails over power and privilege,” said Ellison in an announcement video.
In the 2022 election, the Democrat won in a tight race against Republican Jim Schultz, with a victory of less than 1% of the vote.
On Oct. 7, Schultz announced on Facebook that he is running again for attorney general.
The DFL released a statement in response to Ellison’s announcement for reelection.
“At a time when half of our country’s politicians ignore problems for their own convenience, Keith Ellison stands out,” said Minnesota
