BUYCK, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The Buyck Volunteer Fire Department officially broke ground on its new fire and training hall.

Th investment into Northland public safety was made possible through the 2024 Omnibus Tax Bill, which included $950,000 for design, engineering, and construction of the new facility and related equipment.

For the groundbreaking ceremony, the fire department was joined by local and state leaders, including Senator Grant Hauschild, and the community.

Work has now begun, and the department expects the building to be done by next spring.

Senator Hauschild praised the investment as a big win for northern Minnesota.
