HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - On this date in 1976, the Big Red Machine won the baseball World Series.
It was the fourth series title for the Cincinnati Reds and the culmination of an incredibly dominant season.
The Reds swept the New York Yankees for the win, and the games featured a host of Hall of Famers like Johnny Bench, who was the MVP, but also Joe Morgan and Pete Rose.
The Reds also had a great starting pitcher named Don Gullett, who grew up in Lynn, KY, just outside of Greenup.
