EAST BOSTON, Mass. —

A flight from Boston to Las Vegas was forced to return to Logan International Airport on Monday night after an incident involving a "verbally abusive" passenger on board.

JetBlue Flight 777 departed Logan at 8:18 p.m. Monday. According to FlightAware, the flight made it almost to Buffalo, New York, before it turned back to Boston.

Troopers were notified by JetBlue operations that the plane was returning to the gate for a "non-compliant passenger who had been verbally abusive," according to Massachusetts State Police.

A 37-year-old man from Louisville, Kentucky, is being summoned to appear in court for interference with a flight crew, state police said. The man's name was not released.

The A321 landed safely at 10:30 p.m.
