SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. ( WSMV /Gray News) - A debate broke out among school board members while discussing next year’s academic calendar.
The debate was over whether the Sumner County School District in Tennessee would name their time off in December Christmas Break or Winter Break.
Last year, board members voted to change the break’s name from Winter Break to Christmas Break. Since at least 1994, it had been called Winter Break.
Board member Wade Evans said he wanted to discuss changing the name back to Winter Break after hearing feedback from constituents in the district.
