MERIDEN, CT (WFSB) - Six men were arrested for their roles in a retail theft scheme, Meriden police announced.
The suspects were identified as Jose Perez, Izay Ortiz, Hector Mejia, Amardean Elsayed, Luis Amaurys Rodriguez Pena, and Ruel Gordon.
Police said they began investigating the large-scale internal scheme in July 2024.
The thefts happened at a retail store in Meriden, but police did not identify it.
Police said the scheme resulted in a loss of $250,000 for the store.
The suspects were involved in several different schemes to defraud the retail store of money and products, they determined.
Perez was charged with first-degree larceny and receiving a commercial bribe. His bond was set at $200,000.
Ortiz was charged with second-degree larceny and given a $150,000 bond.
