Florida Panthers left wing Brad Marchand will play at Boston on Oct. 21.

Florida Panthers winger Brad Marchand was in the news Saturday for taking Rasmus Dahlin's helmet into the penalty box and ripping off the straps.

He'll be back in the news on Tuesday, Oct. 21 when he visits Boston, the city where he played his first 15-plus NHL seasons.

The Bruins shocked the hockey world in March when they traded their captain and 2011 Stanley Cup winner to the Panthers. Florida played in Boston several days later, but Marchand was hurt at the time. This will be his first game at TD Garden in a different NHL jersey.

Marchand ranks between the top four and six in Bruins history in goals, assists, points and penalty minutes. He leads in short-handed and overtime goals and is second in game-winners.

He also was popular for the type of feisty play that he displayed on Saturday, which led to a $5,000 fine. It earned him the nickname Rat, which fit in well with Panthers playoff traditions. Marchand played a key role in the Panthers winning a second consecutive title, and he re-signed with Florida.

The game has other importance to the Panthers beyond the homecoming. The banged-up team is trying to end a four-game losing streak.
