OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - Let the anticipation begin as we're officially less than 1,000 days away from the Olympics in Oklahoma City.

Officials from LA28 and Oklahoma City came together Monday morning at Devon Park to celebrate the milestone.

"To the people of Oklahoma, get ready, get excited. The Olympics are coming to Oklahoma," LA28 Chairperson and President Casey Wasserman said.

Just about 1,000 days until Oklahoma City takes the world stage. Well, technically it's 998, but who's counting?

"This is a defining moment for our city and it will be an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives," Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt said.
