ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Election Day is just two weeks away and WDBJ7 is covering the races across our hometowns.

The race for the 41st District House of Delegates seat is expected to be one of the most closely contested state legislative races in the region. Democrat Lilly Franklin is challenging Republican incumbent Chris Obenshain in a rematch of a 2023 election that was decided by fewer than 200 votes.

WDBJ7 sat down with both candidates to learn more about what they say are the biggest issues in the race.

The 41st District encompasses most of Montgomery County and part of Roanoke County. Two Southwest Virginia natives are competing to represent the district.
