ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. —

A man has been accused of assaulting a deputy at a high school football game in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

On Thursday, deputies intervened with an "irate parent", later identified as Mose Jones of Thomasville, while at an Oak Grove High School Junior Varsity football game.

Deputies with the Davidson County Sheriff's Office were assigned as off-duty security for the game when the incident happened.

Jones was near the field after being contacted by school personnel that his child had possibly sustained an injury.

Deputies said Jones was yelling obscenities towards opposing players and parents.

Once deputies attempted to de-escalate the situation, Jones allegedly turned his attention to the deputies.
