Grayson is charged with three counts of first degree murder for allegedly shooting and killing Sonya Massey in her home on July 6, 2024.
On Tuesday morning, prosecutors decided to drop the counts of aggravated battery and official misconduct.
The motion hearing followed a lengthy, seven-hour jury selection on Monday. The bulk of the conversation between the attorneys and Sangamon County Chief Judge Ryan Cadigan on Tuesday focused on terms that should or should not be used during witness testimony.
