Waterbury police are looking for a man that can be seen hitting a dog in a video that is circulating online.

The police department said a video appears to show a man striking a black and white dog.

On Monday, animal control officers were able to locate the dog, which is a Dachshund. The dog is receiving treatment for minor injuries, authorities said.

Police said they're conducting an animal abuse investigation, and they're looking for the man believed to be involved.
