WATERBURY, Conn. (WFSB) - Police are investigating after a man struck a dog in Waterbury on Monday.

A man was seen hitting a black and white Dachshund in the city in a circulating video, the police department said.

Waterbury Animal Control thankfully found the dog who suffered minor injuries.

The dog is now receiving treatment.

Officials said this animal abuse case remains under investigation.

Desmond’s Army also said they are looking into this incident.

No further details were released.
