UF Students host 12th annual “Dance Marathon” to raise funds for patients and families at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) -

Students were outside on the north lawn of the Reitz Union and inside the Grand Ballroom, dancing for a good cause. This year’s theme is Transform Tuesday, and it lasts for nearly 26 hours today and tomorrow.

People who attended the event were able to participate in chalking the sidewalk, line dancing, and hearing different unique stories from families. One family we spoke to says they’re using this event to give back.

During its 31 years of the event, they have raised more than $33 million. Last fall, the Dancing Marathon at UF raised $365,131.
