GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — Ballyhoo Grill has closed after serving seafood, steaks, and oysters to Gainesville residents since before the turn of the century.
In September, Ballyhoo owner Brooke Skiotti and Pendon Corp. were sued by Lorand Inc., which alleged the restaurant had failed to pay its rent and owed them over $30,000.
A judge ruled last Friday that the property needed to be handed back to Lorand Inc.
In July, Alachua County Tax Collector John Power filed a petition that listed Ballyhoo as delinquent in paying its property taxes in 2024.
