WILLISTON, Fla. (WCJB) - Southeastern Grocers, the company that owns Winn-Dixie, is purchasing multiple Hitchcock’s stores in North Central Florida.

The Hitchcock’s grocery stores in Williston, Keystone Heights, and Alachua are now owned by The Winn-Dixie Company, the new name for Southeastern Grocers following a company restructuring.

The existing Winn-Dixie in Williston will reopen as an Aldi grocery store. It was supposed to close a week before Thanksgiving, but Winn-Dixie officials say Aldi gave them more time so that they will remain open until Dec. 12.

“We’re thrilled to hear that the Hitchcock’s will be a Winn-Dixie,” shared city council member Debra Jones.
