Tinicum police are asking for the public’s assistance as they investigate a fatal hit and run accident on Saturday night.

Tinicum Township Police Superintendent William Righter said his department and Delaware County Criminal Investigation Division are investigating the accident in which the striking vehicle killed a man in his 60s and the driver fled the scene.

The victim was struck at the end of the exit ramp from Interstate 95 north onto Route 291 just past Stevens Drive.

Righter said they have identified the victim, but they have not released his name pending family notifications.

Tinicum police received the call at 8:07 p.m.
