SHREVEPORT, La. - A Shreveport nonprofit leader is being recognized for her work helping to keep children out of Louisiana’s justice system.

Keli Todd, executive director of Volunteers for Youth Justice, was one of 10 individuals honored at the annual Angel Awards Gala in Baton Rouge. The awards, presented by the Louisiana Blue Foundation, celebrate those who dedicate their time and talents to improving the lives of children across the state.

In addition to the recognition, Todd received a $30,000 grant from the foundation to further the mission of Volunteers for Youth Justice, which has served Louisiana families since 1981.

The organization operates several programs, including Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), My Community Cares, and Jumpstart, all aimed at supporting children
