HARTFORD, Conn. — Love Hartford Week, an opportunity for volunteers to get down and dirty across the city of Hartford every year, is well underway.
Knox Inc., the 50-year-old urban farming and beautification nonprofit, collaborates with sponsors and supporters on projects from parks to gardens in efforts to get them ready for the winter season ahead.
“We have hundreds and hundreds of volunteers at projects every day [all over Hartford],” said Patrick Doyle, the executive director of Knox. “We've got over 20 organizations involved and working to not just clean up the city or clean their little corner of the city, but also to tell the story. And the story is about the people who care day and day out about these green spaces in Hartford.”
