HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — This is “Love Hartford Week” which means parts of the capital city are looking cleaner and greener right now.
Volunteers are tending gardens and cleaning up green space and they’re doing it all within the City of Hartford.
“Hartford has beautiful green spaces and they are nestled throughout the city, sometimes in plain sight, and sometimes they’re hidden gems,” Patrick Doyle, executive director of KNOX, said.
KNOX is a group that has been tending green spaces in the capital city for five decades. Today, they are working on one of the hidden gems: The Battles Street Community Gardens.
“It’s one of 21 gardens we manage so people in the city have access to grow fresh produce for themselves and to share with their neighbors,” Doyle said.
“They actually have plots
