LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A North Las Vegas officer saved a puppy from an overdose after it accidentally inhaled fentanyl.
The small puppy was inside a room containing fentanyl when it inhaled the substance and began showing signs of an overdose, North Las Vegas police said in a social media post Tuesday.
North Las Vegas Officer Sanders then recognized the emergency and administered Narcan, reviving the puppy before it was too late.
North Las Vegas Animal Protection officers responded to the scene and took the puppy to a nearby animal hospital for further care.
North Las Vegas police said the incident is a "powerful reminder" of the dangers of fentanyl.
