TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — WalletHub released a report on the best and worst college towns in the US, naming Tampa as the fourth best college city.

The three key dimension's used in WalletHub's study, "Best College Towns in America 2025," were wallet friendliness, social environment and academic and economic opportunities.

WalletHub said it evaluated these dimensions using relevant metrics, and the study placed each metric on a 100-point scale. A score of 100 points represented the most favorable conditions for college students.

With a weighted average across all metrics, Tampa received a total score of 60.55 points on the 100-point scale, WalletHub said.

WalletHub examined 415 cities of varying sizes, ranking each of these cities by its total score.
