Slidell police say a 16-year-old is in custody in connection with a deadly shooting last week .

Police said in a Facebook post that the juvenile, whom they did not name, turned himself in to authorities in Hancock County, Mississippi, on Monday night. Investigators had attempted to apprehend the juvenile earlier Monday at a residence in Mississippi but he was not there.

The juvenile will be returned to St. Tammany Parish, where he faces one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder, police said.

Police said the shooting occurred the evening of Oct. 15 near Possum Hollow Park. When police arrived they found a male with multiple gunshot wounds.
