GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — With cooler weather and the start of colorful leaves falling, Mesa and Montrose counties will start their leaf pickup services for residents.

Annually, these services take place to prevent fallen leaves from clogging storm drains and gutters or being bagged and thrown into landfills.

Specific details of the removal services may vary depending on the town or city a person resides in; however, most services will not collect items besides leaves, and crews may skip over designated leaves if they include items such as rocks or trash.

A list of some towns and cities in the two counties that are either participating in a leaf removal or a pick-up service can be viewed below.
