GLADE PARK, Colo. (KREX) — The Mesa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) arrested a man Monday evening for allegedly endangering an infant after fleeing from multiple agencies in a car in the Fruita Reservoir Three area.

MCSO, alongside the US Forest Service (USFS) and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) responded to the disturbance at around 5 p.m. on Monday.

A US Forest Service ranger first found the male near a car in the bushes off of MS Road in Glade Park. The male allegedly appeared to be in an altered mental state during the interaction. The ranger then located an infant in the car.

When the USFS ranger attempted to contain the scene, the male's dog, which was off-leash, attacked the ranger. The man entered the car and drove off from the scene at a high rate of speed.
