SEATTLE — A Seattle mother is accused of stabbing her young son multiple times in the chest, hands and leg, then leaving him to die in a bathtub, according to charging documents from the King County Prosecutor's Office.

Joelene Louis Rodriguez, also known as Joelene Louis Evans, is charged with one count of first-degree murder with premeditated intent following the death of her 4-year-old son . If convicted, she could face life in prison.

Rodriguez remains in jail on $5 million bail; her arraignment is set for Thursday, Oct. 23.

The 4-year-old boy’s father went to the Cedar Crossing Apartments on Oct. 16 after Rodriguez said she attempted suicide, court documents state. Inside, the man found his son lying facedown in a bathtub of bloody water and he called 911.
