BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — There is still no deal out of Washington, D.C. to end the government shutdown.
On Monday, the Senate once again failed to reach 60 votes in favor of funding the government.
This was the 11th vote, where Senate Majority Leader John Thune was trying to pass a bill that would pay federal workers and military service members. But until that happens, the House is not in session, and North Dakota congresswoman Julie Fedorchak is spending time meeting with people around the state preparing bills for when the gridlock ends.
She says President Trump most recently directed money from the Pentagon to pay military troops, including Minot Air Force Base, but she is concerned of what could happen to people living and working on the base if the shutdown continues into November.
