The Prime Minister's plane has been diverted due to a medical event after leaving Washington following Anthony Albanese's first meeting with US President Donald Trump.

ACM has confirmed the event is in relation to a member of the RAAF and not the PM.

The plane departed from Joint Base Andrews on Wednesday morning, Australian time, and was scheduled to arrive in Honolulu before continuing home to Australia.

But it was diverted to St. Louis Lambert International Airport, Missouri when the medical event occurred.
