Nevada ranks among the worst states in the nation for air pollution , with 93% of residents living in counties that receive at least one failing air quality grade. This pollution harms everyone, but children are especially vulnerable — suffering from lower lung capacity, higher asthma rates and more frequent hospitalizations for breathing problems. Bad air doesn’t just affect health; it limits outdoor activities, drives up medical costs and lowers quality of life for families across the state. If Nevada truly wants to protect its people and its environment, it must reduce its dependence on methane-emitting natural gas and move faster toward clean, renewable energy.
