SEATTLE — After nearly 21 months away from NHL action, veteran goaltender Matt Murray is officially back—and he’s feeling better than ever.
The 29-year-old netminder was sidelined for the entirety of the 2023-24 season following a bilateral hip injury that required surgery in October 2023. The injury, one of the most serious of his career, required a lengthy and intense rehabilitation process.
“Yeah, it was a long, very long process,” Murray said. “Pretty intense surgery.”
But now, after months of hard work and recovery, Murray says he finally feels like himself again.
“I haven't felt that good, in terms of my hips, in a long, long time,” he said. “So I'm very, very happy about that.”
