HALE COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Dozens of first responders and members of law enforcement in west Alabama are searching for a man who went missing last week.
Ellis Thomas’s family reported him missing from his hometown of Greensboro in Hale County .
He was last seen on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
The search is now happening in parts of Bibb and Hale County. The command post was set up by Hale County EMA leaders at the corner of Alabama Highway 25 and Hale County Road 46, which is about a mile from where Thomas’s car was found.
Hale County Sheriff Michael Hamilton says the investigation shifted into high gear when Thomas’s car, a gray Audi, was found in the woods.
“We’re kind of baffled about the whole situation,” says Hamilton.
