Before voting yes on the three appealing sales tax increases, please consider their unintended consequences, especially the effect on local businesses.
Raising our already steep sales taxes could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back — for both locals deciding where to shop and visitors deciding whether to vacation here. I own a local retail store, and I can tell you from the front lines that both locals and tourists are not happy with our already sky-high sales tax rates.
