GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Employees and customers at a Kent Co. brewery are dealing with the loss of its head brewer.

Josh Tiemeyer of 'Railtown Brewing Company' passed away unexpectedly this week at the age of 45.

Tiemeyer, along with his brother-in-law, founder and co-owner Justin Buiter were in it together since the brewery began in 2014.

Buiter said that it would never have been possible without him.

“He was going to be our Brewer when we got things opened, and he was with us from the beginning," Buiter said. "Since the inception, since it was just an idea and just a dream.”

Although he spent much of his time as a mechanic before helping open up ‘Railtown Brewing’ in Dutton, Tiemeyer soon learned the ropes of becoming a brewer and became renowned in the community.
