The Ann Arbor City Council met Monday evening in Larcom City Hall to hear public feedback on and approve the third draft of the city’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan , a set of guidelines for the city’s future that the city says will allow them to focus on affordability, equitability and sustainability.

The Comprehensive Land Use Plan is a master plan , a document or set of documents required by Michigan law that guides zoning and development decisions for the following decades, but does not hold the force of law. The plan is guided by a steering committee of community members, who provided input on the project and worked with the City Planning Commission throughout the process.
