TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Families are sounding the alarm about the inaccessible sidewalks in Tucson.

From cracking pavements to overgrown plants, it’s a problem that many 13 News viewers have told us about, and city officials said they’re aware.

13 News spoke to a mother and her three daughters in wheelchairs about their struggles and why they feel like an afterthought.

Jamie Veprek explained that taking a stroll on Tucson sidewalks isn’t easy for her family.

“It’s just sometimes hard because we want to be a typical, everyday family, we want to be out in the community, but we’re very limited by those things,” Veprek said.

They’re limited by the sidewalks that are cracked, sloped, and just inaccessible.
